Thumbs up Vols have a new Coach

I'm definitely excited about getting a coach with a losing record in his career. I guess a 17-20 career record and a record of 4-8 in 2009 was just too much to pass up.

Re: Vols have a new Coach

I am actually not that ****ed about the decision. A heckuva lot better hire than Cutcliffe. He is a Nick Saban disciple and his recruiting coordinator while at LSU bringing in two #1 classes in 2001 and 2003. So if he brings in the right staff I am not all that ****ed about it.

I imagine most all Vol fans will be ****ed and probably quit pulling for the team now
Give the guy a shot and if it doesn't work out it doesn't work out and if it does then most all of those fans will pull out their Vols clothes in a couple of years and jump back on board.

I know some people will also be turned off by his record, especially this year but hell they had a tougher schedule than most Top 25 teams.

Either way I still don't think it is done, ESPN has already retracted the story. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if it isn't him, we have had 4 head coaches tabbed now in 2 days.

Thats the kicker. With a good staff around him, he should succeed. IMO, his overall record wouldn't mind. Hell can anyone win at La Tech?

I know this may not happen but I would love to see him retain Kippy Brown at WR, Lance Thompson as DC, Jim Chaney at OC, and go get Rodney Garner from UGA.

That would be a start to a pretty solid staff IMO

So what's with the hatred UT fans have with Cutcliffe? From what I've seen 99% of UT fans didn't want Cutcliffe.

Ive seen enough of Duke to know Cutcliffe has done a great job there. Besides, his blue devils actually gave VT a game, unlike Kiffin's squad.
